I painted this piece entirely in black, white, and soft greys to let the expression, carving, and movement speak first. Without colour, the focus shifts to form—the swirling hair, the wide eyes, the carved details, and the sense that the Barong is watching, steady and present. There’s energy here, but also calm. Strength without aggression.
